Ma'wa Community Guidelines,
Safety Pledge & Consent

PART 1: COMMUNITY GUIDELINES  ·  The Ma'wa Code

Assalamu alaikum 💛 Ma'wa means refuge and a refuge only works when every sister helps protect it. These are the few things we ask of everyone here. Come as you are; leave the space kinder than you found it.

1. This is a women-only, verified space, please keep it that way. Ma'wa is for Muslim women, and every member is verified. Please don't share your access, screenshots, or invite links with anyone outside the community.

2. Lead with kindness. Speak to every sister the way you'd want to be spoken to. No harassment, bullying, mockery, or cruelty — ever. Assume the best of each other; we're all here in good faith.

3. What's shared here, stays here. Protect each other's privacy fiercely. Don't screenshot, repost, or share another sister's posts, photos, or personal details anywhere outside Ma'wa. Trust is the whole point.

4. Honor our differences. We come from many cultures, countries, and places in our deen. No judging or policing how another sister practices, dresses, or lives. Respect over sameness.

5. No spam, no selling, no recruiting. Please don't use Ma'wa to promote a business, sell products, run an MLM, or solicit sisters — unless a host has said yes first.

6. Safety comes first, always. When meeting, hosting, or traveling with a sister for the first time, use good judgment (see the Safety Pledge below). Your wellbeing matters more than any plan.

7. You choose your own connections. Ma'wa introduces sisters to each other; the decisions about who to meet, host, or travel with are always yours. Trust your gut, and never feel pressured.

8. Keep it lawful and 18+. Ma'wa is for adults (18+). Nothing illegal, harmful, or that puts another sister at risk.

9. Speak up. If something feels off — a message, a member, a situation — tell a host right away at admin@mawacollective.com. We'd always rather hear about it.

10. How we keep the refuge safe. Hosts may edit or remove content and, when needed, remove members who break these guidelines — sometimes without warning if safety is at stake. We do this to protect the sisterhood, not to police it.

Breaking trust here (especially around another sister's privacy or safety) is the fastest way to lose your place. Everything else, we'll always talk through with care. 💛

THE MA'WA SAFETY PLEDGE  🤝

Ma'wa connects real, verified women who share your values but real-world safety is a partnership between us. Here's our half, and yours.

What Ma'wa does for you:

We make a best effort to ensure each member is verified as a real woman through a public profile before joining.

Our spaces are women-only and private — never open to the public internet.

We take reports seriously and act on them.

What Ma'wa does not do please read this closely:

We do not run background checks, criminal checks, or vet anyone's character, history, or intentions.

Verifying that someone is a real woman is not a promise that she is safe, trustworthy, or a good fit for you.

We can't guarantee any member's conduct, or what happens when sisters meet, host, or travel together.

Your pledge 🤝

I'll use my own judgment about who I meet, host, and travel with.

For a first meeting, I'll meet in a public place and tell someone I trust where I'm going.

I'll trust my instincts — if something feels off, I'll step back, and I'll report it.

For any trip, I'll carry my own travel insurance and make my own decisions about my safety.

I understand Ma'wa is a community that introduces sisters — the choices, and the responsibility for them, are mine.
