Trip Lead

Born in Queens, NY and raised in NJ, Umber Rashid grew up chasing sunrises at the beaches of the Jersey Shore and exploring the mountains in upstate NY and northwest Jersey. Her drive for exploring kicked in during her college years when she hiked the Grand Canyon in 2017. Community and adventuring are important to her, and she enjoys bringing sisters together for her monthly bookclubs and annual summer canoeing at Princeton. One of her bucket list items is to hike the Appalachian Trail. Umber is currently a graduate student/adjunct instructor at the Department of History in NYU.
