We missed Colorado on our 2024 trips, so we're coming back for the start of 2025! Join your Muslim sisters for a long-weekend adventure in Colorado and be sure to bring your coats, gloves, and boots for an epic winter getaway!
This 3-night trip in Colorado is a beginner level trip that can accommodate 16 people.
Accommodation:
There is one large lodge/home reserved for this trip with 8 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. Each bedroom has a different configuration of beds - you may register for your preferred sleeping arrangement via our booking platform.
The lodging reserved for this trip is located in Colorado Springs, Colorado - about a 1.5 hour drive from Denver. Participants should be prepared for some driving/commuting over the course of the weekend to reach the hikes and activities planned in the itinerary.
Trip Activities + Difficulty Level:
This is a Beginner level trip - the hikes planned are slightly challenging, but can be done by participants with limited hiking experience.
Itinerary highlights include:
Visit to the Garden of the Gods
Snowshoeing along nearby trails (included)
Scenic drive along Pikes Peak Highway and stand on top of one of Colorados 14ers
Visit to one of the highest suspension bridges in the world: Royal Gorge Bridge
Exploring the small town of Manitou Springs or challenge yourself with a hike up the iconic Manitou Incline
Note: our itinerary may be subject to slight changes throughout the weekend due to delays, weather, or factors outside of our control.
Note: All Ma'wa Collective trips are considered group trips - as a participant, you will be expected to remain with your group at all times. Participants are not permitted to leave the group and engage in activities outside the published itinerary. Any participant found in violation of this may be subject to dismissal from the trip and/or future Ma'wa Collective trips.
Nadah Feteih
Trip Lead
Nadah is an Egyptian Muslim-American woman who grew up with a love for the outdoors. She enjoys hiking, backpacking, and most recently mountaineering. She’s visited 27 national parks across the US and completed treks to Everest Base Camp, summited Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and Mt. Kosciuszko in Australia, and received a scholarship to summit Glacier Peak in Washington state this past summer with Climbers of Color. She is passionate about making the outdoors more accessible to others in her community which is how the idea for Ma’wa was born.
