For all of our girlies that are looking for that rustic, down to earth connection to nature, this is your trip. Join us in Death Valley for an authentic camping experience, complete with outdoor cooking, stargazing, and sleeping under the stars in tents.

This 3-night trip in Death Valley National Park is a beginner level trip that can accommodate 18 people.

Accommodation:

The Death Valley Spring Trip is a camping & glamping trip. Lodging provided will be in the form of tents in a shared campsite. The campsite has communal bathrooms available for use with shower facilities. There are two lodging options available on this trip, described below. You may register for your preferred sleeping arrangement via our booking platform.

  • Camping Tent: these are traditional tents assembled with poles that require sleeping bags. Each camping tent will be shared by 2 participants. Sleeping bags, sleeping pads, and the tent itself are included with registration.

  • Glamping Tent: The glamping tent has bed frames, mattresses, pillows and blankets. While the glamping tent is an enclosed structure, it does not have electricity, lighting, heat, or cooling.

The campsite reserved for this trip is located just outside Death Valley National Park - about a 3 hour drive from Las Vegas. Participants should be prepared for some driving/commuting over the course of the weekend to reach the hikes and activities planned in the itinerary.

Trip Activities + Difficulty Level:

This is a Beginner level trip - the hikes planned are slightly challenging, but can be done by participants with limited hiking experience. All participants will need to bring good quality hiking boots to complete planned hikes in the itinerary.

Itinerary highlights include:

  • Sunrise at Father Crowley Vista Point

  • Sunset at Zabriskie Point

  • Scenic drives through the desert with sights of Spring wildflowers

  • Included Hikes :

    • Darwin Falls 

    • Badwater Basin

    • Artists Palette

    • Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes

  • Stargazing, campfire + outdoor cooking

Note: our itinerary may be subject to slight changes throughout the weekend due to delays, weather, or factors outside of our control.

Note: All Ma'wa Collective trips are considered group trips - as a participant, you will be expected to remain with your group at all times. Participants are not permitted to leave the group and engage in activities outside the published itinerary. Any participant found in violation of this may be subject to dismissal from the trip and/or future Ma'wa Collective trips.

Nadah Feteih

Trip Lead

Nadah is an Egyptian Muslim-American woman who grew up with a love for the outdoors. She enjoys hiking, backpacking, and most recently mountaineering. She’s visited 27 national parks across the US and completed treks to Everest Base Camp, summited Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and Mt. Kosciuszko in Australia, and received a scholarship to summit Glacier Peak in Washington state this past summer with Climbers of Color. She is passionate about making the outdoors more accessible to others in her community which is how the idea for Ma’wa was born.

What's Included

Trip registration includes lodging, food, and coordinated activities throughout the weekend.

Transportation is NOT included in your registration or covered by Ma'wa Collective:

  • It is the responsibility of participants to do their due diligence to check on travel logistics before signing up for the trip. This includes checking flight availability and pricing if you are not local to the area. If you will be flying in for this trip, we advise flying into Harry International Airport in Las Vegas (LAS): arrival must be no later than 1pm on Friday, April 11th, and departure no earlier than 1pm on Monday, April 14th


  • Carpools: While we can assist with arranging carpools among participants, we cannot guarantee that every Trip will have local participants that are able to volunteer their personal cars and offer a carpool. In some cases, a rental car may be the only option for carpooling. Some participants will need to volunteer as drivers for the rentals and the cost of the rental car is not covered by Ma’wa Collective.
